Description: Rattus norvegicus with name ACI.F344-(D16Rat17-D16Rat15)/Nkg from RGD.
Species: Rattus norvegicus
Notes: F344 rats are susceptible and ACI rats are resistant to PhIP(2-Amino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridine)-induced ACF formation (Nagao, 1998). Targeting on susceptible gene for colon tumor on rat chromosome 16 (Nakagama, 1999), this congenic strain was established by backcrossing F344/Jcl, as a donor strain, and ACI/NJcl, as a recipient strain. Description: Database for genetic, genomic, phenotype, and disease data generated from rat research. Centralized database that collects, manages, and distributes data generated from rat genetic and genomic research and makes these data available to scientific community. Curation of mapped positions for quantitative trait loci, known mutations and other phenotypic data is provided. Facilitates investigators research efforts by providing tools to search, mine, and analyze this data. Strain reports include description of strain origin, disease, phenotype, genetics, immunology, behavior with links to related genes, QTLs, sub-strains, and strain sources.
