Species: Mus musculus
Genetic Insert: KIF17-short
Vector Backbone Description: Backbone Marker:Invitrogen; Backbone Size:5546; Vector Backbone:pcDNA3; Vector Types:Mammalian Expression; Bacterial Resistance:Ampicillin
Comments: This vector directs expression of neither of the current mouse RefSeq Kif17 variants, isoform 1 or isoform 2. Rather the vector expresses a cDNA which corresponds to a different alternatively spliced transcript encoding a still shorter isoform of 511 amino acids rather than the 1038 residues of isoform 1 or 710 of isoform 2. The first 400 residues of the “short” isoform are essentially identical to the amino-terminal motor domain of isoform 1 and 2. Based on studies of Kif17 truncations, the short form of mouse Kif17 is predicted to form dimers and to bind microtubules.
*Compared to the reference sequence, this expression vector expresses a protein with substitution of conserved glycine-152 with a serine in the motor domain of Kif17. Due to this mutation, the properties of the produced protein could be altered.

Vector Backbone Description: Backbone Marker:Novagen; Backbone Size:5406; Vector Backbone:pET-22b(+); Vector Types:Bacterial Expression; Bacterial Resistance:Ampicillin
Defining Citation: PMID:23923816
Comments: Plasmid contains E-Cadherin domains 1 and 2 (aa157-375, when compared to GenBank reference sequence NP_033994.1). Numbering of the mutations is relative to this sequence. The pro-peptide sequence that is normally cleaved during maturation was intentionally removed as part of the cloning strategy for expression in bacteria.

Can't find your Plasmid?
We recommend that you click next to the search bar to check some helpful tips on searches and refine your search firstly. If you want to find a specific plasmid, it's easier to enter an RRID or an Addgene Catalog Number to search. You can refine the search results using Facets on the left side of the search results page. If you are on the table view, you can also search in a specific column by clicking the column title and enter the keywords.
If you still could not find your plasmid in the search results, please help us by registering it into the system — it's easy. Register it with Addgene.
