  • RRID:Addgene_1732

    This resource has 1+ mentions.

http://www.addgene.org/1732

Species: Feline Immunodeficiency Virus
Genetic Insert: Gag-Pol and Rev
Vector Backbone Description: Backbone Size:12905; Vector Backbone:modified pUC119; Vector Types:Mammalian Expression; Bacterial Resistance:Ampicillin
Comments: This is the FIV PPR based second generation packaging vector, part of the FELIX vector system from Nolan lab. The FELIX vector system consists of three plasmids - structural, envelope, and transfer vector - which are cotransfected into 293T cells to produce virus. The structural construct makes Gag-Pol and Rev (some variants also make Vif and A). Any envelope construct can be used for pseudotyping - VSV-G tends to give the highest efficiency and broadest host range. The transfer vector contains the viral LTRs and packaging signal. Any expression cassette (promoter and gene of interest) can be cloned into the vector. Inserts can be up to 8.5kB. Please note that the sequence information has some inaccuracies, so restriction digests may give slightly different bands than predicted.

  • RRID:Addgene_1734

    This resource has 1+ mentions.

http://www.addgene.org/1734

Genetic Insert: LacZ
Vector Backbone Description: Backbone Marker:Nolan Lab; Backbone Size:8396; Vector Backbone:pBMN; Vector Types:Retroviral; Bacterial Resistance:Ampicillin
Comments: This is Nolan lab's standard retrovirus vector backbone that expresses lacZ. Most of the other library vectors and IRES constructs are based on this expression vector. A variant comes with GFP in place of the lacZ gene (see pBMN-I-GFP). Please note that there are some minor differences between Addgene's quality control sequence (see sequence with the pLXSN-5 primer) and the assembled sequence from the Nolan lab. See the following reference for further information: digitalcommons.unl.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1008&context=chemistrycerny

Vector Backbone Description: Backbone Marker:BD Biosciences; Backbone Size:6100; Vector Backbone:pIRES; Vector Types:Mammalian Expression; Bacterial Resistance:Ampicillin
Defining Citation: PMID:18077452
Comments: The backbone of this plasmid appears to be approximately 600bp smaller than is reported. The depositing scientist is aware of this difference and reports that the plasmid functions as it should.
