Integrated Animals is a virtual database currently indexing available animal strains and mutants from: AGSC (Ambystoma), BCBC (mice), BDSC (flies), European Xenopus Resource Center (frog), The National Xenopus Resource (frog), Xenopus Express (frog), CWRU Cystic Fibrosis Mouse Models (mice), DGGR (flies), FlyBase (flies), IMSR (mice), MGI (mice), MMRRC (mice), NSRRC (pig), RGD (rats), Sperm Stem Cell Libraries for Biological Research (rats), Tetrahymena Stock Center (Tetrahymena), WormBase (worms), XGSC (Xiphophorus), ZFIN (zebrafish), and ZIRC (zebrafish). Note, the IMSR data is linked, but users may need to re-execute the search if the top mouse is not returned properly.
Note: BCBC is no longer in service, so the links may not be functional.

Notes: A rat showing hereditary renal cell carcinoma was found in a Jcl:SD rat colony and named Nihon rat. In this rat strain mutation was identified as an insertion of a cytosine (C) in a C tract within exon 3 of Flcn . This germline mutation results in a frameshift and produces a stop codon 26 amino-acids downstream. Thereafter they have been maintained at Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma Co., Ltd. Notes: Dr. Susumu Makino and his colleagues found several animals that had gait abnormalities among Wistar rats maintained at Shionogi Co. They named these animals osteogenic disorder (OD) rats because they exhibited prominent bone and joint abnormalities and systemic bleeding. Subsequent studies revealed that these symptoms were derived from an ascorbic acid (vitamin C) deficiency arising from defective gulonolactone oxidase (GLO) activity. This characteristic was confirmed to be the result of a mutation involving the autosomal single recessive gene od. Scurvy due to L-gulonolactone oxidase deficincy; phenotype normalizes if supplied with ascorbic acid 300mg/kg/d. od/od rats are more susceptible to dental caries as compared with +/+ rats, in only amoun parous females. Notes: The obese SHHFcp/cp are homozygous for the corpulent allele. The Breeding stock for this colony was transferred to Dr. Sylvia McCune at the University of Chicago Medical School in 1983 from the laboratory of J.E. Miller at G.D. Searle and Company. The animals were developed by backcrossing the SHROB rat to the SHR/N rat. Dr. McCune obtained the colony after the seventh backcross and continued to inbreed past 20 generations to fix the congestive heart failure trait.

Can't find your Organism?
We recommend that you click next to the search bar to check some helpful tips on searches and refine your search firstly. If you want to find a specific organism, it's easier to enter an RRID or a Catalog Number to search. You can refine the search results using Facets on the left side of the search results page. If you are on the table view, you can also search in a specific column by clicking the column title and enter the keywords.
If you still could not find your organism in the search results, please help us by registering it into the system — it's easy. Organisms identifiers are registered through multiple sources depending on the species:
